ADDRESSING THE TREATMENT OF HYPERTHERMIA

Updated 8/25

In the image above, hyperthermia causes are demonstrated.

Hyperthermia is recognized as a temperature which is above
normal. A severe form of this condition may be recognized
as heat stroke. ( temperature above 104 degrees).

Heat stroke if left untreated, may lead to further problems.

Taking simple steps to avoid hyperthermia, is better than
having to treat it. If the body temperature rises too high,
it may not be compatible with life. In the image above,
helpful suggestions are listed.

Emergency treatment may sometimes be necessary in
the treatment of hyperthermia. If this occurs outdoors,
putting the victim in a cool place, like under a shade
tree and applying ice packs really helps.

Cool or cold, not hot fluids will help in the process.

For someone who has outdoor plans like a picnic, or
swimming on a very hot day, it is advisable to have
enough fluids and wear light-colored clothing.
Alcoholic beverages should be avoided !
