WHAT IS APLASTIC ANEMIA


Aplastic anemia is a form of anemia which may be idiopathic or acquired. Idiopathic means the cause is unknown. Acquired may be due to radiation therapy, anticonvulsants or autoimmune diseases. Bleeding under the skin may result from low platelet count. Blood transfusion and BMT(bone marrow transplant) are forms of treatment.
