DEFINING TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY

The brain may be injured in more ways than one
A penetrating wound like a gunshot, blunt trauma,
like a blow to the head or a car accident may all 
result in, injury to the brain. 
Below, new information has been added.

When a trauma happens, it takes all hands on deck 
to stabilize and transfer a patient to a trauma center.
Trauma centers may range from Level 1- 4 and the
type of care which is available will be determined
by which level the patient is transported to.

Scenario: Timmy was having fun with his football.
He received a forceful blow to the head and a few
hours later, he seems to be "acting strange".
He was rushed to the ER.

A surfer hits his head on the pier.
He sustains a TBI ( Traumatic Brain
Injury) and a Subarachnoid hemorrhage.

He was admitted to the ICU for treatment.
