Spinal shock may be caused by hyperextension
or hyperflexion of the spinal column.Vasogenic
shock may also occur, leading to vasodilation
of the blood vessels, hypotension and bradycardia.

Central cord syndrome typically involves the central
part of the spinal cord. This unusual phenomenon
causes weakness of the upper extremities and minimal
or no weakness of the lower extremities.
