WHAT IS AN ACOUSTIC NEUROMA





What is an acoustic neuroma? An acoustic neuroma
(vestibular schwannoma) is described as a benign tumor
which grows somewhere along the eight cranial
nerve ( the acoustic nerve).
The eight cranial nerve is responsible for hearing
and balance.

Acoustic neuromas, may or may not need surgical intervention.
Symptoms include:
-hearing loss
-tinnitus (ringing in the ear)
- vertigo and loss of balance.
