PLASMAPHERESIS

Updated 2/25

Plasmapheresis is a form of treatment used for
treating conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis
and other autoimmune disorders. It is also used
to treat Guillain-Barre syndrome .

Multiple Sclerosis is considered to be a debilitating
disease. It is progressive and the damage it does takes
on a chronic path. The Central Nervous System is
affected.

Its cause is not fully understood and is categorized
an autoimmune disease. Clinical trials are
being done to improve this destructive illness.

During Plasmapheresis, blood is removed, treated and returned
  to the body.
