BLOOD TRANSFUSION REACTION

Dear nurses,

Are you aware of the warning signs of a blood transfusion
reaction?

The nurse should always be aware of the warning signs
of a blood transfusion reaction. These include chills, anxiety,
flushing, itching , shortness of breath and chest pain.

Immediate action is usually taken to stop the blood. It is
important to follow your Institution's policies and procedures.
