HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY TO YOU. I did not intend to post this week, but was very concerned about a Heparin situation I heard about. I decided to post some helpful info. on Heparin Therapy in the Clinical Setting( Anticoagulation Therapy, chp. 9)

to help my fellow nurses who are not familiar with this drug.

Heparin is an anticogulant drug. It is used to prevent the formation of blood clots. It is important to know what to look for, if the patient in your care is on anticoagulant therapy. Enjoy learning more about Heparin Therapy in the Clinical Setting,(Anticoagulation Therapy, chapter 9).

A patient on Anticoagulation Therapy( Sessions 11) is at risk for bleeding from the dressing site,
    gums urine etc.It is important to include this in the Care Plan.( Care Planning and Patient Education).
